6 and 6 -- my 1st new project

While I was tossing ideas about, trying to decide on one that was "worthy", I played with some leftover yarn from a Magic Ball kit I got from Jimmy Beans (it has sold out).  As I knitted and knitted, it finally clicked that this could be my new project...
It will be a scrappy blanket, someday!

How did you go?  Well enough, it was soothing to knit in plain garter.
Did you have fun with something new?  Yes, it was fun!
Was it easy to decide what to choose to work on?  Kind-of.  I decided on it after the fact.  :P
Needed new fabrics for it?  Not yet, but I am sure I will be buying more tidbits to add on.
Were you able to make Substantial Progress with it?  I think so - only 2 mini-balls left!

January OMG update

I am angry and annoyed right now.  I do not know why I am so hard to please, but I do not think that this is "pretty" enough.  I just want to throw the stupid thing in the trash.  I'm sorry for being dramatic, and I'm not sure if this counts as a completed goal for Patty (our host for the OMG linkup), but I am done.  I'll be back soon (I hope!) with a better mindset and a plan for February.

Ribbon is from 2002!

January OMG - hat box

I had a tough time deciding again this month, but I chose to "make this pretty" as my goal.

It used to be a hat box, with a pin cushion on top, in some not-me
colors of olive green/dark blue in a ditsy floral print.  I think.  It has been naked for 7+ years.  :P

I want to store my perle thread in here, so I can see it out and be inspired to do more hand-stitching.

Linking back to Elm Street Quilts, our lovely host.
