(I am pretty sure) I began this blanket in April of 2014. I am almost ready to call it finished.
I am currently adding grays for the cloudy skies and the confusion that hang over me. I finished the obnoxiously bright rainbow surrounded by blues for sadness and tears to say good-bye to my brother. He hung himself on 27 March. When my grandmother (mother's side) passed away in December of 2014, I had just begun my Cosy Stripe (but in rainbow order) and I had seen a lovely rainbow over Monterey Bay, so now I think of rainbows as a way for souls to get to the other side.
My OMG, hosted by Patty of Elm Street Quilts, is to add more colored stripes so that it feels done... I know I want the sun to break through the gray clouds, and it needs some more purple!

January OMG
I did not like the way my hexi-flowers for the Kingfisher QAL came out. How was that 18 months ago...?!?
I am going to re-imagine them as a cover for my Kindle. My OMG is to piece together two 5x7'' ish* bits (or all one piece?). This is what I started last night:

*because seam allowances do matter if you want things to fit...
Frustration lives in the space between expectation and reality.

June OMG - June Quilt
This was from 2 years ago: pattern from crazy mom quilts' QAL.
My goal is to cut out 17 squares for the cornerstones (4 1/2") {and the setting triangles: four 7" squares cut into quarter triangles) from plain black, and to sew 20 strip sets (4 1/2" x 8 1/2" unfinished; need 48 for the lap quilt size) from black and white fabrics. I have 4 ish so far, but lots of smaller bits sewn together.
The big squares and setting triangles in turquoise are already cut out, started at a class at my LQS.

May OMG - done
Ta da!
This was mostly fun to piece together, but I wish that I hadn't made it more complicated by using 5 solids (instead of just the one...)

May OMG - Mostly Modern
This month, I want to make a picnic blanket; backed with denim or canvas or something sturdy. We're having a sports day at work on the 22nd, but since I don't do sports-ball, I need something to sit on under a tree so I can read a book or knit. :P
This fabric is from a few years back; pattern is called "Mostly Modern" from Back Porch Fabric in Pacific Grove. Gail's demo was the same feature fabric but with just navy. I added lime green, aqua, orange, and purple. <3
